He started his career as a host in MTV Canada. He rose to prominence by hosting the After Show and it’s various spin offs. The show has now gone off air. After that he wrote, produced and acted in his own Christmas special for MTV. He even hosted an MTV awards red carpet and Canada fear factor. He even hosted the 2010 Vancouver winter Olympics.

He acted in a Canadian TV series called Degrassi: The Next generation.

In 2020 he was part of a movie called Coastal Elites that followed the lives of people through the Covid 19 pandemic. In February 2021 he hosted a show of Saturday Night Live. Grammy winner Phoebe Winners was his guest.

In 2017, Dan Levy hosted the Great Canadian Baking Show and after the first telecast itself the series started receiving a lot of flak and The Globe’s editor even went in to use the word ‘fatness to describe Dan’s performance in the show.
