She began her career as a child when she began singing country songs on stage. She is a self-taught singer. When she was 16 years old she became a backup singer for an Elvis impersonator. After that she began performing at various Seattle Music clubs with her twin brothers. In 2005 she had released an album titled Brandi Carlile with the songs that she had recorded at home. In 2006, Columbia records re Reese’s the album.
The album was a break out hit and she was named as one of the 10 artists to watch for in 2005.
