Career

Charles, Prince of Wales started his career as a qualified helicopter pilot. He was named Prince of Wales and Earl of Chester on 26 July 1958, but he wasn’t crowned until 1 July 1969 at Caernarfon Castle.

In June 1974, he became the first monarch to address the House of Lords since Edward VII in 1884. He spoke in 1975. He founded The Prince’s Trust in 1976 and visited the US in 1981.
