Dave Bautista started his career as a wrestler with WWE. Buddy Lee Parker informed him he would never make it in the wrestling industry when he tried out at the WCW Power Plant.

The WWF suggested he train with Afa Anoa’i at the Wild Samoan Training Center, where he trained and competed in Anoa’i’s World Xtreme Wrestling (WXW) company.

On 30 October 1999, he debuted as Khan. Marrese Crump taught Bautista Muay Thai and Eskrima. Gracie Jiu-Jitsu just promoted him to purple belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.

On 6 October 2012, at Classic Entertainment and Sports: Real Pain in Providence, Rhode Island, he was set to fight Rashid Evans (not Rashad Evans). On 1 October 2012, Evans was pushed out of the fight due to a probation violation. Vince Lucero, a 40-fight veteran, replaced Evans. He won the bout via TKO at 4:05 of the first round.

As Triple H has never defeated him in a singles competition, He teased a fight with Triple H on SmackDown’s 1000th show on 16 October 2018.

On 25 February 2019, He returned to Raw and assaulted Ric Flair backstage as he prepared to celebrate his 70th birthday, calling on Triple H. Then, on March 11th’s Raw, He challenged Triple H to about at WrestleMania 35 to end his career on his terms, which Triple H accepted, adding the battle would be a No Holds Barred contest.

Per Hi’s attorneys’ orders, Triple H placed his career on the line against him on Raw on 25 March. On 7 April He defeated Triple H when Ric Flair interfered. He retired from professional wrestling on 9 April 2019.

On 9 December 2019, WWE announced his induction into the WWE Hall of Fame as part of the 2020 Class. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the ceremony was postponed, and the 2020 class will be inducted with the 2021 class during the 2021 event.

But he was removed from the roster before the event. He confirmed his withdrawal on Twitter, claiming prior responsibilities as the reason he couldn’t attend the 2021 event. His desire to be inducted at a future ceremony was granted.
