Sonali Phogat started her career as an anchor in 2006 with her appearance in the Haryanvi TV show, telecast on Doordarshan channel.
After that, she made her acting debut in the Zee TV serial “Ek Maa Jo Laakhon Ke Liye Bani Amma” (2016) as Fatima, starring Aman Yatan Verma and Urvashi Sharma. The serial is based on the backdrop of partition of India and aired Saturday and Sunday at 10:30 pm.
In 2019, she appeared in the web series, “The Story of Badmashgarh” directed by Ameet Choudhary.

She was highly criticized as she asked people to chant Bharat Mata Ki Jai and stated that those who are not chanting must be from Pakistan. Later, the politician realized her mistake and made an apology for her statement.
She was also involved in a controversy when a video got leaked over social media in which she was seen slapping an official with her slipper. The incident took place on 05 June 2020, when she visited Sultan Singh with a list of farmer’s complaints.
