Jimmy Carter’s Parents are James Earl Carter Sr. and Lillian Carter. Thomas Carter was an English immigrant who came to Virginia in 1635 and was succeeded by Carter.
In Georgia, the Carter family farmed cotton for several generations. His father was a flourishing local businessman who used to own a primary shop in that area and invested his money in agricultural property.
During World War I, Carter’s father served as a reserve second lieutenant in the American Army Quartermaster Corps. Carter’s parents moved from one place to another when he was very young. His mother, Lillian Carter, worked as a nurse at the Wise Sanitarium hospital, where he was born.
