In 2011, Congress leader Digvijaya Singh alleged him that Bhushan had failed to pay taxes due when they bought an investment property in Allahabad. Later in the same year, Bhushan stated that he wanted the Armed Forces Special Powers Act to be revoked in Jammu and Kashmir at a press conference in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh, India.
In 2015, he alleged Aam Aadmi Party’s chief Arvind Kejriwal for selecting candidates of his own choice. Recently he also accused Prime Minister Narendra Modi of being corrupt and a puppet of Reliance Industries. He also added that RSS is supporting terror activities and criticized Bharatiya Janata Party for its links with the RSS.
Recently he found guilty of contempt for his two tweets on Chief Justice of India SA Bobde and the Supreme Court. The court will decide on the sentence on 20 August 2020.
